Welcome back everyone,
The good news is auction 2011 is in full swing and promises to be bigger and better than ever. The auction “Puttin on the Ritz” is one month earlier this year, and scheduled for Saturday, February 26, 2011. Bidding floors open at 6:00 p.m. immediately following 5:00 p.m. mass at Holy Family. With the auction earlier this year, we are starting to collect donations at the start of the school year. Please look over the Auction Table Categories below for our proposed donation suggestions and wish list along with table chair contact information. For the month of September, we are looking for items to fill the Entertainment Table. We are accepting: restaurant certificates, spa services, opera and symphony tickets, cab coupons, health club memberships, pet grooming certificates, vacation get-aways, piano lessons, store gift certificates and much, much more.
Your donation qualifies as a gift in kind and maybe subject to a tax deduction where applicable. Please note your donation does not satisfy parent pledge requirement.

Please consider donating an item or service from our “wish list” below. Please note that all items should be of first quality and used items will not be accepted. If you are in doubt as to what would be appropriate, please contact one of the table chairs (contact information for each is listed below).
All items may be delivered to a table chair or delivered to the Saint Ignatius switchboard no later than 6:00 p.m. on school days. Items MUST be accompanied by a completed donor form to ensure all necessary information is obtained, and be sure to include item value. Although we greatly appreciate all contributions, the inclusion of your donated items in the auction will ultimately be determined by the auction committee.

2011 AUCTION “WISH LIST”
BASKETS TABLE
Last year, we had over 100 baskets with themes ranging from “a romantic evening” to “pampered pooch.” You name it, we had it! You can make up an entire basket of your own or send in something that can be used in another basket. We are looking for donations of CDs, gardening utensils, food, fine wines, kitchen gadgets, golf items, best-sellers, spa items and certificates for men and women, coffee, picnicking necessities and more… let your imagination go wild!

CHICAGO TABLE
Especially for fans of the Windy City, this table is full of Chicago memorabilia as well as Chicago-related prints and books. Some items are from Chicago celebrities including TV and radio hosts – even Oprah! The table could use tour and cruise certificates, food and just about anything with a Chicago flavor to it.

ENTERTAINMENT TABLE
This table needs weekend hotel packages, spa services, opera or symphony tickets and show tickets from all theatres in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. Dinner tickets are really a big hit – these can be from your neighborhood favorite or any restaurant in the downtown area. We could also use health club memberships and services, department/clothing store certificates, and personal services from professional organizations, maids, life trainers and re-designers. How about taxi coupons, pet grooming certificates, vacation getaways or piano/guitar lessons? Let your imagination soar!

SPORTS TABLE
To really spice up the Sports Table, we seek tickets to sporting events – perhaps from season ticket holders. We would be grateful for sports memorabilia, autographs, apparel (including college items, team jerseys and sporting equipment.) Golf outings are popular (perhaps at your club as one in the foursome), as are passes for race tracks, health clubs and gyms. We can use certificates for sports camps, ice skating lessons, Notre Dame tickets, bowling parties, pool parties and workout DVDs. If you have anything that has to do with sports, we can use it for this table.

SAINT IGNATIUS TABLE
An ode to our favorite school, the Saint Ignatius table will feature Saint Ignatius-related memorabilia, artwork, sports, clothing and accessories, experiences and other items. Faculty, staff and administrators often generously contribute to this table. Parents and alumni also usually contribute items (some custom made) relevant to Saint Ignatius College Prep and its traditions. We are calling all alumni to give items from their businesses or items that you have made. We want this table to shine with the talents of our Saint Ignatius community.
