class reunions

Every fall and spring, alumni come back to celebrate their various class reunion with a mass and reception at the school. Generally in the springtime, the school celebrates the Jubilee (50+ years) and the 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25-year reunions. In the fall, the 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50-year reunions are held. In December, the school invites the most recent graduating class back for a yearbook signing party. If you are interested in serving on your reunion committee, please contact Ryan Osborn in the alumni office at 312.432.8403. Scroll below for details about upcoming reunions. Don't forget that reunion years are the perfect time to contribute to your class endowment!

- Reunion FAQs
Q. When will my reunion be held?
A. The reunion years of 10, 15, 20 and 25 are all held on the same night in the spring, usually in April or early May. The 5 year reunion is held in June. The reunion years of 30, 35, 40, and 45 are held in October. The 50th reunion is held in September. The class years greater than 50 years out are held on the same day, the Jubilee Reunion, in May.
Q. When are reunions greater than 50 (i.e. 55th, 60th, etc.) held?
A. All classes that are past their 50 year reunion are invited back each year to the Jubilee Reunion in May.
Q. I'll be celebrating my 55th reunion this year. How will the school help us coordinate the reunion?
A. The alummni office will be happy to promote your reunion in our publications, but encourage folks to attend the Jubilee Reunion is they want to have the reunion at school.
Q. I'm interested in helping out with my reunion, whom should I contact?
A. Please contact Ryan Osborn at 312-432-8403 or ryan.osborn@ignatius.org
Q. What are the roles of a reunion committee member?
A. The primary role of a reunion committee member is to get classmates to attend the reunion. The secondary purposes include: finding missing classmates, volunteering at the reunion mass and spreading the message of the school today by personalizing the reunion gifting appeal letter.
Q. What is the format for the reunion?
A. For the 50th, Fall and Spring reunions, the format includes a mass, awards presentation, class photo, cocktail and dinner reception. For the 50th, a Friday activity is developed and coordinated by the committee, while the alumni office helps with promotion of the activity.
Q. What does a "missing classmate" mean?
A. The alumni office does not have a valid address for that person, therefore no way of sending them an invitation to their reunion. If you are "missing," please update your profile on this website.
Q. Why are their fundraising efforts leading up to my reunion?
A. We realize that your reunion time is one of celebrating old memories with your classmates, but we also invite you to keep informed of the school today. By making your reunion gift, your class can also celebrate how much help your giving the students in need at Saint Ignatius today.
