Law Society

Mission
The goal of the Saint Ignatius Law Society is to foster camaraderie within the Saint Ignatius law community. Within 5 years the Law Society raised over $100,000 for the Michael F. Lefkow Memorial Scholarship. This endowment provides tuition assistance for financially struggling Saint Ignatius students. The society was founded in 2005 by Thomas E. Brabec ’73, John M. Coleman ’67, Kevin J. Conway ’69, Daniel G. Pikarski ’90 and Curtrice White Scott ‘90.
Membership
The Law Society is open to any alum, parent, or friend of Saint Ignatius College Prep who is involved in the field of law. The $250 annual cost of membership supports the Law Society Endowment and is entirely tax deductible. As a member, you and your firm will be recognized in the annual Law Luncheon program book and will receive an official Saint Ignatius Law Society lapel pin.

Annual law society events
Law Luncheon
The annual Law Luncheon is held each spring. If you are interested in serving on the luncheon committee, please contact Meredith Couling at (312) 432-8348. As a committee member, you will be recognized in the luncheon program and will receive an official Saint Ignatius Law Society lapel pin. Committee members are asked to take an active role by:
- Joining the Law Society
- Attending the Law Luncheon with a guest
- Participating in a phone-a-thon to recruit attendees and Law Society members
Reception
At least once a year we host a reception for members of the Law Society to say thank you for your support and to offer additional networking opportunities.
CLE Program
In 2009 we offered the inaugural CLE program through the Law Society to bring an added benefit to the Law Society and help all Ignatius lawyers fulfill their continuing legal education obligations. We intend for this to become an annual offering and are planning the second annual CLE in November 2010. If you are interested in helping to plan the program, please contact Meredith Couling.
